About Us

Welcome to Windy Knoll Farm, our five acre country haven in the Champlain Valley of Vermont. Windy Knoll Farm is home to Windy Knoll Goldens – our small family of AKC registered Golden Retrievers.

We are the Moores: Greg, Arielle, Jonathan, Mary Grace, and Esther. We love working together to take care of our Goldens!

Greg is primary care-giver, keeping our dogs and puppies well supplied with fresh food and water, manning the housing and fencing, and capturing many beautiful memories of each dog and puppy on camera. He also does ongoing research on Golden Retrievers, so that we are continually learning more of every aspect of the breed.

Arielle works alongside of Greg, filling in the gaps when necessary. She washes and combs the dogs, plays with the puppies, prepares special treats for the mothers, and takes care of the paperwork required for AKC (American Kennel Club) registration. She is also enjoys handling much of the communications aspect of Windy Knoll Goldens, responding to emails and calls, and helping Greg keep the website updated when she manages to find a little bit of time inbetween caring for kids and dogs!

We both enjoy involving our children in as many aspects of caring for our dogs as possible! Jonathan is old enough and responsible enough now to really enjoy helping out with the small puppies, and shows his love of animals by his careful, tender way of holding the little pups. Along with Mary Grace, he also likes to help out with brushing the dogs. Mary Grace's job is teaching the puppies to be gentle, as she learns that same lesson herself in the process! Esther is thrilled with all animals, and so she gets quite excited anytime she spots a dog, especially a puppy! She's not quite careful enough to hold them yet....

We raise our dogs as part of our family and firmly believe in the importance of lots of fresh air, excersise, and sunshine as part a healthy lifestyle for each canine member. Our dogs enjoy roaming our five country acres and spend their days exploring the fields, lazing in the shade, catching grasshoppers, and keeping us company in all our outdoor activities.

Feeding our dogs and puppies Drs. Foster and Smith's premium natural dog food helps to keep them thriving and in top-rate shape! We care for our dogs with a combination of natural and traditional resources. As of summer 2013, we are in the process of getting all of our dogs their OFA certification.

When our puppies leave Windy Knoll Farm, they come to you:

  • Vet-checked

  • Wormed

  • With their first shots

  • With their AKC registration papers including limited registration rights (If you are interested in full registration for breeding purposes, we are willing to give you that option for an additional fee).

  • With lots of love, having been handled since birth by adults and children alike!

If you are interested in a puppy from Windy Knoll Goldens, please check out our Sales Contract for additional information. We also take pre-birth reservations, to allow people the best chance of getting the puppy of their choice. You can view our Puppy Reservation Contract for more details.
